PARALEL – Belgrade Subculture Festival, was born out of the need for affirmation of alternative popular culture. At the same time, our goal is to promote a model of intercultural cooperation and various socio-cultural forms that arise in conjunction of local and global, and of popular and alternative. We see diverse subcultures, in a way, as a metaphor of the modern civil society, in which different realities and urban folklore coexist, creating an incredible synergy in public space.
Also, at the time of the general acceleration and globalization, we want as much as possible, to get back on the wheel backwards and to remember the city and creativity of its people. So every edition of the festival is also dedicated to the cherishing of our authentic in subcultures.
PARALEL – Belgrade Subculture Festival is organized by Belgrade based NGO Subculture.
